Just a quick thought on the recent childish war which DK started on his blog. I just can’t help but think if he was just trying to gain more eyeball to his blog so that people will vote for him as the most Insightful Blog Award by Omy, which by the way, he has lost his fight as of now.

And it seems to me, as a 3rd party, that DK is also ruining his image as a TOP Blogger as given the title by The New Socialite recently. If Ping.sg is one of the better, to me one of the best blog community in Singapore, isn’t it silly for him to try form an “Out” group on his own instead of staying within the community as a whole?

The social media blogging scene in Singapore, although may seem very big, but the very active ones in the scene is pretty small. If one choose to try dividing the community up, its not wrong for the owner, founder or community manager of that community to decide to ban him out of the group. They need to see the community from the big picture instead of trying to please the micro group that’s tearing the community apart.

If one feels that the community was evolved due to his/her involvement at the beginning, then why isn’t he/she appointed as the community manager? If he/she thinks that he/she has contributed greatly to the community, and thinks that he/she has a lot more supporters than the community as a whole, then perhaps, he/she can try to start a brand new blogging community on his/her own.

Or maybe perhaps, all these finger pointing and childish war is all crafted and planned by him/her. In line with what’s to come in the near future? No one knows.

It’s going to be real interesting around the blogsphere. Let’s sit back and enjoy the ride.

  1. Well I don’t know if I want to call it childish, but I thought he was just fighting for something he believed in. And I think he really believed in this wholeheartedly that’s why he got so agitated. I remember even when some people made personal attacks against him on some blog, he didn’t even react. So he must be really upset. Some point in time the both of them need to come out and properly discuss it through without any of us adding fuel to the fire.

They all have nothing better to write. Really, there is no quality post in ping.sg. It’s just like a forum.

it’s just really silly. it’s an outing, have to admit that no matter where we go there’l always be the group that’s a bit more vocal and gungho as opposed to the rest in a big community. can’t please anyone. just seems like a case of jealousy. yes yes i know it was an open free-for-all gathering but sometimes you get people who want to be specifically asked or mentioned or something along those lines because they ‘believe’ they’re special.

or at least that’s how it looks to me.

Sorry, I must disagree with your entry.

I’m not doing this to gain more eyeballs and get more people to vote for me. If I want to do that, I would apple polish the community manager and the “in group” instead. I think that will give me more vote.

Seriously, I don’t think I can win Omy award. Me against the big names like Mr Wang, ieat and simplyjean? I don’t stand a chance me. Am just campaigning for the fun of it.

And seriously, I don’t deserve the title “Top blogger” that you have given me. There are many bloggers who are far better than me. :)
